Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

In the difficult times when you wish to return to the states, keep in mind back to January, February, March, all those months where God was pushing in your heart to do something extreme for Him.

My buddies actually speak fact.

Truth check: I have actually been a little bit of a Johnny Raincloud recently.

On the blog site, a little. (This pertained to my attention after I check out a few of my newest posts and recognized they were all stories about my stinky-fish-market-dirty-jeepney-oppressively-hot life in the Philippines. O, problem is me.)

In reality, a lot more. I have actually been feeling ill + I wish for the conveniences of house + I miss my friends and family. Trouble is me once again.

This entire Philippines thing is a huge modification, and a few of these yucky sensations are regular. Yes. Definitely.

However I have many factors to be glad. I have adequate cash to take a taxi whenever I do not seem like strolling. A refrigerator loaded with fresh, healthy food. A consistent tidy water system. An awkward variety of shoes to pick from each early morning. I question what the guy on our corner who sleeps on a piece of wood would state if he lived my life for a day. And I suggest my “Filipino” life.

I think I might begin with being glad that I even had the option to come here in the very first location.

So you came here for cookies, and now you seem like you have actually been punk ‘d.

This is not punk ‘d. This is a post about cookies.

Know this → I am so glad for chocolate chip cookies.

And think what else? I’m glad for boxed milk. NOT JOKING. It’s milk that in fact tastes like milk. Can you think such a thing exists? I remain in milk paradise here, particularly when I “mistakenly” purchase non-low-fat milk. Soaking cookies in whipping cream called milk is something I can support.

If chocolate chip cookies are a band-aid for the soul and chocolate chip cookie dough is a double band-aid for the soul, I will take both the single and the double, please and thank you. Two times. And with a glass of milk.

These cookies are timeless in such a way that just peanut butter, oats, and 2 kinds of chocolate chips can be timeless. And if you’re a nut individual, you much better include some nuts. I will evaluate you for sacrilegious cookie habits, however whatev.

I believe we can a minimum of all settle on the {2 kinds of melty} chocolate part, right? Right.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar up until smooth. Beat in the peanut butter, vanilla and egg up until well combined. Integrate the flour, baking soda and salt. Stir up until simply dampened. Mix in the oats and chocolate chips up until uniformly dispersed. Stop by tablespoonfuls on to gently greased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, up until the edges begin to brown. Cool on cookie sheets for about 5 minutes prior to moving to cake rack to cool totally.

This makes about 25-30 cookies for me.
